The S2 IS Lensmate 58mm adapter comes with a free end cap (not to be confused with a lens cap, the end cap covers the rear of the adapter when the adapter/lens or filter is removed from the camera). The adapter requires a 58mm clip-in type cap the same size as the adapter thread, this type of cap will also fit onto a filter.
