In a departure from making Canon-only accessories, Lensmate is offering step rings for the new Leica D2/Panasonic LC1. These step rings enable users to step up from the Leica/Panasonic - only 69mm, to the more common 72mm and 77mm. (Any 72mm filter can be used with the D2/LC1 at the full wide setting without vignetting, except for a polarizer, which must be of the "slim" design.) We carry 72mm and 77mm Hoya UV filters (HMC & Super HMC) and 77mm Hoya circular polarizers (HMC & Super HMC), along with lens caps in the aforementioned sizes.
This combination of lens hood and cap offers excellent all-around lens protection. In a severe salt-spray environment like the ocean, a filter will offer more protection - and the Lensmate lens cap/lens hood can be easily removed as a unit with a quick twist.

Though there is a bit of vignetting, image quality is very good overall with no CA or softening at the edges. More than 2x the magnification of the Canon 250D or 500D.
