Canon PowerShot G11, G10 Camera Variations

Camera A
Camera B

We are working with several sample G11, G10 cameras and have noted some minor differences between them. These samples that show the vignetting that occurs when the lens is zoomed back to 28mm with the Lensmate G11, G10 teleconverter adapter (A + C) attached, you can see that the vignetting is more or less symmetrical in sample camera A and much less so in B.

The camera showing the most off-center image circle exhibits slight vignetting in the corresponding corner(s) when a filter is attached.

A Solution:

If you observe slight vignetting with a 72mm Pro1 Digital Polarizer, you may be able to eliminate it by removing the gasket between the two adapter sections. Though there will be adequate clearance for the Pro1 polarizer with the gasket removed, you will need to replace it to use a UV filter, which requires more clearance at full telephoto. Our test camera B, which we reckon is worst case for vignetting, shows slight vignetting in one or two corners using the Pro1 Digital polarizer at 28mm. By removing the gasket between the adapter sections, this vignetting disappears. Remember though that the gasket is necessary to use the UV filter at full telephoto zoom.
