Notice: 37mm A95/A80 Lensmate adapter discontinued as the Tiffen 37mm tele and wide angle have been discontinued by Tiffen. 52mm A95/A80 Lensmate adapter still available.
Introducing the Lensmate 37mm A80/A95 lens adapter. The 37mm filter size is small enough that the adapter doesn't block the AF-assist beam/self-timer lamp or the red-eye reduction lamp. It's barely noticeable in the bottom of the optical viewfinder - not enough to be bothersome and only at the full wide zoom setting. There is no vignetting caused by the adapter at any focal length. In fact, you can stack 2 filters or even combine a filter and collapsible lens hood without any vignetting in the 37mm size. Flash blockage is also minimal, and again only at the full wide zoom setting.
The small 37mm filter diameter allows taking macro shots when you're so close to your subject that a larger filter diameter would be blocking the light. Compare to the Canon 52mm adapter (LA-DC52D) which effectively blocks all light emitters, viewfinder and flash. You can leave the Lensmate 37mm adapter and a UV filter on the A80/A95 for full time protection of the zoom mechanism and lens without compromising any of the cameras features.
Precision machined from 6061 aluminum, the Lensmate A80/A95 adapter has a bead blast finish which is clear anodized for a perfect match with the A80/A95 body. Its shape follows the lines of the extended telescoping lens and looks like part of the camera. It attaches with a twist and then locks securely until the release button is pressed so there's no way it can fall off accidentally.
Also available is an A80/A95 52mm adapter with the same all metal construction and finish for those who might already own 52mm filters or conversion lenses. Both adapters are available in silver anodized finish. Price for either size is $21.95, or 2 of either size at $19.95 each.
We are offering the Tiffen +7, +10 macro set (37mm only), and the Hoya +1,+2, and +4 macro sets in 52mm (not available in 37mm), in addition to UV and polarizing filters.
