A85/A75/A70/A60 Teleconverters

These teleconverter samples were taken using the LensMate 37mm and 52mm lens adapters on the Canon A85. You can expect the same performance from the Powershot A60, A70, and A75 as they all share the same lens. Shown are images at full tele zoom, and next to them images at the focal length at which vignetting begins. If zoomed back farther, the corners would begin to darken, eventually resulting in a round image at the full wide setting. All images are Large/Superfine jpegs straight from the camera.

*The focal length shown in the A85 EXIF is actual, ranging from 5.41mm to 16.2mm. The 35mm film equivalent would be 35mm - 105mm, therefore the multiplier is about 6.48 when converting one to the other. To determine the focal length of the A85 with a teleconverter added, simply multiply the focal length of the camera by the power of the teleconverter. Example: A85 at full tele zoom = 16.2mm. With Tiffen 2x added, 16.2mm X 2 = 32.4mm.  For the 35mm film equivalent, multiply 32.4mm X 6.48 = 210mm.
